Monthly Meeting of San Fernando Valley Branch SLOLA Fri. May 27th 11am-1pm. Sepulveda Garden Center 16633 W Magnolia Blvd, Encino, CA 91436. Topic: “Let’s take a closer look at our plants!”  Master Gardener Lucinda Zimmermann will take a hands-on look at the parts of the plants.  Understanding what each part does helps you become a better gardener … and seed-saver.  Don’t worry — This will be a non-biology major, gardener-friendly class.  Come and learn some cool facts and miraculous things our plants are doing. Potluck follows.

“Amaranth Sowing with Qachuu Aloom” Fri June 3rd 5-7pm. The Learning Garden, Venice High Campus,13000 Venice Blvd, 90291 Enter on Walgrove. SLOLA & TLG in partnership with Qachuu Aloom Farmers Assn. & Garden’s Edge will start seed in a 3 session series of events: “Sowing”, “Use of Leaves” & “Harvesting Seed for Food & Replanting”Details TBA. $10 suggested donation / no one turned away.

You do not have to be a member to attend, a $10 donation makes you become a member for life with access to our library of seeds to borrow from, to plant and return seeds when you have abundance.
