Qachuu Aloom, A Guatemalan Farmer’s Association presents:”Amaranth Leaves Cooking Workshop”hosted by SLOLA & The Garden’s Edge Sun July 30th Noon -2pm at The Learning Garden, Venice High Campus,13000 Venice Blvd, 90291 Enter on Walgrove.

The second of three summer events with Qachuu Aloom. Come be a part of SLOLA on going relationship with Qachuu Aloom. Learn about the seed saving and nutritional work they do in Guatemala while cooking amaranth leaves that are growing in the Learning Garden. Amaranth leaves are packed with antioxidants, protein, vitamins, calcium, iron and minerals.

Qachuu Aloom is working towards the rights of communities to determine their food and agriculture systems in relation to culture, health, and sustainability

if you have an amaranth recipe to share please bring it along.
